Ammeter
An ammeter is a device used for measuring electric current. Ammeters are connected in series with a given circuit using two terminals (positive and negative). These terminals are connected to the positive and negative ends of a circuit respectively. Whenever current passes through an ammeter, it will cause a deflection in the measuring needle, showing the magnitude of the current.
Ammeters must have a much lower resistance compared to a load in the circuit so that current can pass through freely.
How to use an Ammeter in DCACLab
- Create a circuit of your choice. It doesn't have to be complex.
- Click or drag the ammeter from the toolbar.
- Position the ammeter in series with the circuit.
- Connect the positive terminal of the ammeter to the positive end of the circuit, and the negative terminal to the negative end of the circuit.
- View the current in the middle of the ammeter's screen.
